Ejemplo de marea resuelto
Cómo calcular la altura de la marea en una hora determinada
Find the range (HW height minus LW height), split it into twelfths, and add up the twelfths that have changed since high or low water: 1, 2, 3, 3, 2, 1 for each hour. Three hours after a 5.3 m high water with a 0.9 m low, the tide has fallen 6 twelfths and the height is 3.1 m.
La pregunta
High water is at 0930 (5.3 m) and low water at 1530 (0.9 m). What is the height of tide at 1230?
| Elemento | Valor |
|---|---|
| Pleamar | 0930, 5.3 m |
| Bajamar | 1530, 0.9 m |
| Hora deseada | 1230 |
Procedimiento, paso a paso
- Range = HW − LW = 5.3 m − 0.9 m = 4.4 m.
- One twelfth of the range = 4.4 m ÷ 12 = 0.37 m.
- 1230 is 3 hours after HW. In those 3 hours the tide falls 1 + 2 + 3 = 6 twelfths.
- 6 twelfths of 4.4 m = 2.20 m.
- Height of tide = 5.3 m − 2.20 m = 3.1 m.
Answer
The height of tide at 1230 is about 3.1 m above chart datum.
Las mareas de este ejemplo son inventadas para practicar. Para travesías reales, use predicciones oficiales como ADMIRALTY EasyTide o un almanaque náutico, y la curva de marea propia del puerto.
