International Certificate of Competence (ICC)
Skipper abroad legally: the UNECE Resolution 40 certificate, its practical assessment, chartering in the Mediterranean, and the CEVNI code for Europe's rivers and canals, with signs, lights, sound signals, locks and a CEVNI test workout.
The International Certificate of Competence (ICC) lets you prove your skipper competence to officials and charter companies abroad. It sits at about Day Skipper level: do the Level 1 and 2 All students lessons first, then these ICC lessons for the certificate itself and the CEVNI inland rules. Rules on acceptance, tolls and local limits change, so check the current national source before you go. The course sits on the ICC rail.
